"Remember who loves you."
John Saltus, retired sales manager for such companies as G.E., Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, is my oldest "best friend." We met when I was 12 and he was 14, in Branford, Connecticut, and stayed in touch until I went off to university and he joined the Navy.
Jack served in Korea on the Battleship New Jersey, then went into sales and worked all over the U.S. He now lives in California, where his sons, Donald, a building contractor, and Bryan, a golf pro, also live.
After many years of searching, he finally found me again in 2005. Since then he has advised me on my website and brochure designs, and offered advice on sales techniques.
I quoted him in an article I wrote for Freelance Writer's Report. Read it in the Mentoring for Writers section.
